2. Wear Wide-Leg Trousers

Wide-leg trousers work really well for pear-shaped frames, as they balance your body out. Pick a size that fits the widest point and has a long enough inseam. If the waist is too big, take them to a tailor and have it altered. Colour-wise, look for darker hues.

3. Avoid Cropped Tops

Even if they are covering the pages of fashion magazines, avoid cropped tops, as they will show off, not hide, any size discrepancy between the upper and lower parts of your body. Choose longer tops instead – ones that skim the widest part of your hips. Look for ones with interesting necklines too, which will draw the eye up and towards your face.

4. Choose A-Line Styles

One of the major pluses of having a pear-shaped body is having a small waist. A-line styles work really well because they emphasise your waist and flatter your hips; show it off by wearing a funky belt. Want to emphasise your height too? Choose maxi dresses. have a range of options available that will make you look long and lean.

5. Mix It Up with Layers

Layers are great for adding balance to the pear-shaped body. Think cardigans, vests or jackets; choose ones that have a belt to emphasise your waist and add a bit of flair to your outfit.

Remember that whatever your shape, there’s a style that suits you. Finding it and building a wardrobe based on staples that fit this style is key. Once you do, you’ll feel comfortable and confident wherever you are and whatever you’re doing.
