SS16 Fashion Trends – Four Things to Watch out For
While we are currently in the grip of winter, it won’t be that long before spring 2016 is upon us. If you want to know what fashions and designs will be smoking hot when the warm weather hits us, read on.
According to those in the know, it looks like bold and colourful is definitely going to be in style. These are four of the trends to look out for:
Ruffles are back in style, adding an aura of girlish romance to the dresses and outfits of some of the world’s top designers. Roberto Cavalli, Miu Miu and Michael Kors all featured sumptuous ruffles in their collections and so did the likes of Mary Katrantzou, with her structured and elegantly minimal take on this trend. Meanwhile Marques Almeida opted to go more dramatic, with bold shredded ruffles, for girls with ‘disheveled chic’ who don’t mind standing out in the crowd.
Slip dresses are hot to trot in SS16 and are one of the major trends that will be hitting our streets come the return of the sun. Sleek, slinky and daringly see-through, it is now definitely ‘in’ to wear your underwear on the outside. Just check out the gorgeous scalloped lace offerings of Celine, the cute layered look of Pucci, or the risqué chiffon of Saint Laurent.
Bold is definitely better in SS16 collections. Bright colours are everywhere on the runways, featuring in the designs of Gucci, Balmain, Christopher Kane and Dries Van Noten. It won’t be a surprise to see a bright pink contrasting with a powerful acid green all in one outfit, or even a kaleidoscope of hues adorning one dress.
Another major ‘look at me’ trend for SS16 is the use of bold graphic stripes such as those featured in the collections of Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Roksanda and Missoni. Stripes are definitely going to be all the rage!
Of course, some things, like cocktail dresses and skinny jeans never really go out of fashion. With so many businesses online it’s relatively easy to find fashion staples like women’s skinny designer jeans on sites like http://www.cuba-clothing.com/ and others.
In the meantime, as you wait for spring to unfurl, it’s time to start planning your bold new wardrobe!
